Default Any ideas where to get plastic welding rods in Perth

The front hatch on my caravan has a plastic lid which are renowned for cracking. At about $800 to replace Im thinking plastic welding up the cracks might be a way to get a bit more life out of it.
I have a Leister hot air plastic welder that I used to use for heatshrink so just need the rods.

What sort of plastic is it?
You absolutely need to know because you can't just use any old plastic as welding rods

You can make rods yourself by cutting up 3 - 4 mm wide strips of the same plastic. The rods don't have to be round, they can be square or rectangular

If it's cracking it sounds like it might be UV degraded in which case welding it could be a waste of time.

Instead of welding what about making up a complete cover from scratch?

    Some photos would be useful.

Am looking at other options besides welding. Could bend up a new lid but now thinking , Ive got heaps of the ramset epoxy anchor tubes so thinking might tape off the cracks on outside , rough up the inside and then apply the epoxy. If it sticks then respray the cover.

Sounds like a plan but if it's Polyethylene or polypropylene even if it's roughed up the epoxy won't hold for long. Looks up plastic burn tests on the web - then cut off a thin sliver and see what it is.
