Default Smallest arc welder I've seen

    SAM_0638.jpgHello from BC.
This is the smallest arc welder I've come across. The grinding wheel is 125mm for comparison. I gave it a go with a 3.2mm 12P and what a pearler. Beautiful arc and stable, easy to strike. On 2.5mm rods it was hard to get going and needed to run hot to be stable. It could be I have a dicky unit. Well finished, good HD lead set and a digital amp meter. I will get another to see if this one is crook.

I got a similar unit as well just to try out, it's rated as a 200A unit but it won't get anywhere near that. I run it near max setting and it works well, I have even tried to tig with it and had good results. Not bad for something that cost under $75. It's so light and compact, you can take it anywhere.

It's not as small as the one my father used to have, it was about 150 mm cubed, two terminals on it, and no adjustment for amps or anything else. It came with a carbon arc torch also. It was made by AEM from memory
