Default Oxy torch stand that self ignites

I remember ages ago I saw a video of someone with a special stand / torch rest that extinguished and re lit the torch every time you stowed it away..

I'm sure these days they are deemed dangerous but I have an application where it would be a massive safety improvement.

Does anyone know a trade name for them or if one is still produced?

When I attended TAFE as a young apprentice and later as a post trade student the units were installed in Qld Tafe's Oxy welding and cutting bays and were called a pilot light.

They had a gas cut off valve that was actuated by hanging the torch body on them. The mixer had a little hook on it and it was that hook that was used to hang off the valve arm.

To auto start the pilot flame one would lift the torch off the hook and the pilot light would ignite and the oxy acetylene torch once the torch valves were adjusted, could be lit from the pilot flame.

As far as the brand name goes I cannot remember that.

    Sorry!

Gas saver or gas economizer seems to ring a bell.
    Googling turned up this.

BOC used to sell them back when they were still called CIG. They had a spring loaded arm that cut off the gas to the torch when you hung the torch on it and a pilot flame to relight with.
I had one for years, sold it with my Comet 3 kit a few years ago.

Thanks fellas! Perfect. Unfortunately it's for a very very long handled cutting torch so it's going to need some modification.
