Default Transmig 195 Rural pack 2 - consumables question

    G'day all,
First up I'll admit I'm a weekend welding warrior so I'm not up to speed with all the 'correct' spares for this machine.
Have spent a while searching older threads and the www but am unable to find the info I'm chasing so here's my first post on this forum.
As the title says I have one of the old Transmig 195 Rural Pack 2 units and it works very well however I'm having lots of issues getting the correct nozzle for the standard OEM torch. I spoke to Cigweld and was advised the OTW24A/62 16mm nozzle was correct but after purchasing I now know it isn't. Reviewed a .pdf for the machine and it listed OTW21/50F nozzle so off I went and bought that but no it doesn't fit either.
I've managed to get contact tips for the machine - OTW14/35 @ 0.9mm but am now being told they should have been the OTW11/35 so between the nozzle and the tips it's doing my head in.

Can anyone who owns and uses one of these old unit advise me of the correct tips and nozzle please.

    Thanks in advance
    Cheers
    Rob

From my memory, your welder came with a Tweco No.4 gun. It will be written on the gun, either No.2 or No.4 would be the likely suspects.
The difference between the contact tips you have is that one is a heavier duty version than the other, their lengths are the same from memory and either one will work.
Does your nozzle screw on to the neck or slip on to a plastic insulator that has 3 spring steel rings on it? Once you know the number of your gun, then you only need to ask for consumables to fit that gun.

    You've pricked my interest now.
    A Tweco No2 is 250A, a No 3 300A and a No4 400A. There is a 350A Tweco, but it takes different consumables to a No4. I wonder what gun you have?
I have never seen a No3 in the flesh, only No2 and No4, of course the No5 also, but you wouldn't mistake one of them in a hurry.
Could you possibly post a photo of it?

The gun is marked not with no 4 or numbers etc, rather strange. Just marked350amp.3.6 mtr long.i have two no 4's on a safmig and a cig and a no two on an old three phase 180 amp cig machine.the 350amper is a good handling gun and uses shrouds and tips and tip mounts etc from the four but the build is slghtly lighter..will try to get a snap but its over at a mates who's rebuilding his speedway racecare after a big muckup.

There are no markings on the torch at all which has made it difficult to purchase the correct consumables.
I've managed to work out the following:
    Plant pno: 704280
    Machine pno: 704270
    Torch pno: 717557
    Torch type: Tweco
I've spoken to Cigweld technical a couple of times with mixed results however today I had a good chat with a very knowledgeable chap who confirmed the torch pno as above and provided the following:
    Diffuser OTW54A
    Insulator OTW34A
    Nozzle OTW24A/62
    Contact tip OTW14/35
A quick trip to my local 'shop' and I can now say I have the correct gear as it all fits - very happy.

Now looking at the www I see that, as you have indicated above, these parts are indeed Tweco #4 torch consumables.

    Thanks all.

    Cheers
    Rob
