Just been looking at BOC GasNGear shop. Current display model Smootharc Elite TIG 230 AC/DC has Comfort control panel version 2.47. There are two extra features: 1. Spotmatic - tungsten touch-triggered spot welding; 2. kHz pulse feature. Otherwise it seems to do everything the same as the previous BOC model, control panel 2.30.. The new model is presumably identical to the current EWM Tetrix 230 AC/DC (Manual shows panel 2.40.) Length is up 25mm and weight is up from 17kg to 19.3kg. Other specifications are identical.

The model upgrade might explain the reason for the previous runout pricing.

If looking for torch wearing parts, please note the BOC "Guide for Welders" 2011, as they use at the shop has a load of incorrect torch part numbers showing compatibility with multiple torches which do not share parts in reality. BOC web site currently does not show Binzel part numbers until you add to cart and does not make it easy to see which parts are the right ones. Actually the right ones are mostly non-existent on the BOC web site. Can be ordered though from a shop. Presumably could also order from other shops that sell Abicor Binzel, but unlikely they will have stock since the TIG 200 torch does not seem otherwise available.

BOC/EWM TIG 200GD torch wearing parts are same as Abicor Binzel ABITIG GRIP 200. See page 17 for pretty pictures http://www.binzel-abicor.com/uploads...2_0-v1_web.pdf. Full spare parts list shows what exactly goes with what. http://www.binzel-abicor.com/uploads...ist_2_0_v1.pdf

Can order the fine mesh air intake screen (part number in the back of the manual) from BOC, $70+GST. For a pic, see ON FILTER TIG 40; Dirt filter for air inlet Figured it was was worth it to try to keep out crawlers..... (will still need to screen outlet also.)
