Bought a new, very cheap set of 1000KG trailer springs and discovered after, that they are a single tapered leaf. I've never seen them before, so my question is, how do they compare to the regular multi leaf? Better, worse or what?

Thanks

i think their called parabolic springs work ok especially on boat trailer application where rusting occurs between leafs on a normal spring pack

tlbsg has it spot-on. They're parabolic springs, and from memory they're made in Adelaide. Melbourne Trailer & Caravan Supplies down here carry them on the shelf. They're available in both black and galv'd.

If anything they're a little more forgiving when slightly overloaded as they don't have a hole drilled through the middle of them for a bolt.

Good spring, never had any dramas. Only ever seen one snap in half... surprise, surprise, over-loaded.
