Been modifying my trailer so I can fit my entire market stall in. That way I can just hookup and take off (with any new stock etc on the back of the ute instead) and not have to pack it all away out of the weather when I get home.

So I needed to lengthen the trailer 200 od mm.
Come inside after a few hours work all grubby and grimy looking like a coal miner.

Me eye protector mask let a spark in while grinding and burnt me eyelid. So now I wear a pair of sunnies under the mask.

Me hammer slipped off the big cold chisel a few times.

Me welding mask mechanism got tangled up with me right ear a couple of times and bit it.

Give me sawdust anyday, beats the crudddy dirt of metalworking

:D :D :D :D :D

The fumes off gal are poisonous.
Take deep breaths before each weld.

Except for today........

I had to kneel on a wet scaffold to use up 4 batches of mud that arrived just before the rain hit.

I dont build the scaffold BTW, it is built by proffesionals, thats why we have to kneel for the first 5 courses.

As a teenager I had one summer holiday job with an engineering firm.

One of the jobs I was assigned to - as a "gofer" of course, was on an old WW2 fortification that had been turned into a tourist's "Strawberry Farm".

Well, one of the tasks to be addressed included the welding up of a large (about 2.5ml, 1.75w, 2mh) galvanised tank - the purpose of which I can't recall. Anyway, muggins here has told to get into the tank with the welder (person), and pass him whatever tools he needed.

Apart from being nearly gassed (both of us!), I also got a dose of "welder's flash". Pure joy:eek: (blerry agony, actually!)

Cheers!

Dont you love 'em. We recently had some scaffold pipes going into where the eaves are to go. Their solution....."just cut them off with a grinder". And did I mention the scaffold is so reasonably priced:rolleyes:
