Hi guys,
Has anyone had any experience with one of these CNC Routers?

https://tinyurl.com/55pxzpz7

They don't *look* to be the same sort of construction as the standard Extruded Ali versions from China. Are they?

Not expecting perfection, but if the bones are there, we might be able to mod it into something that will do for his needs.

Seems to have linear rails on all 3 axis's and a 15mm thick plate on the Gantry? ( both of which my 6040 doesn't have.....)
Ethernet motion board.

I've bumped into a retired local who wants to get into CNC Machining wood.
I'm looking into options. Not many s/h units in WA so that makes it harder.

Thanks
Steve

I started with a 3020z frame and added upgraded steppers, drives, 1.5kw spindle with VFD, shielded cables, mist coolant etc.

No where as rigid as I wanted it to be but worked well with plastics and aluminium.

Z height is a pain and the spindles have almost no torque at lower RPM’s.

A wood worker should be happy with one.

A metal worker is better of converting a cheap milling machine to CNC.

There are a lot of 6040 router videos on youtube they are worth a look - it seems they are fine for their original intended purpose - timber and even soft metals brass aluminium etc as long as you only want engraving/sign cutting etc once you start wanting milling with repeatable dimensional accuracy then the rigidity and lack a Z travel start getting in the way.

Yes, I thought this particular offering might have been outstanding, but its not.....

The guy who was asking, is not asking anymore, so I won't waste anymore of my time on it. lol
