I've been using this trick/ method . A lot lately
At my new job .we have to very accurately position cars while setting up for a crash. So we position the wheels on top of 2 steel plates with grease in between them. I can easily push a 2 t car side ways buy my self while some one checks the measurements.
The have plates are approx 200mm by 200mm 3mm thick.

I have used the same method when trying to rough align a cars front wheels. Maybe your boss needs to buy you 4 go-jacks (http://www.racerindustries.com.au/afawcs0161690/CATID=345/ID=10188/SID=22324332/Aeroflow-Go-Jack-12)?

We have several sets of Go jacks. There very handy. Most of the time there used after the crash. Before hand . The car or barrier have to be possioned very accurately. Today I was pushing a over 1 ton ridgid Frame with one hand. It just had a pair of greased plates under each tire.
