Hi Guys,
I am thinking of buying one of their benchtop kits IF I can find a reasonable cost for postage. I was going to build a CNC Router from scratch, but I'd rather be using one, than building/tuning one.....
Does anyone know a way?

Hi Steve,

I had a look at their web site, it seems to be a nice bit of kit, but so terribly expensive ! You still have to make or buy the brackets for the router that you choose in addition to buying the router. Yes the carriage charges are expensive too !

Looking at some of their illustrations there seems to be more emphasis on their commercial machines.

Making your own, It would be a great DIY project !

Hi John,
Thanks for the comments.
Yes, it seems expensive and convenient.....lol

I am torn between building one or buying a kit.
Time vs money.

The kit idea is probably way too expensive, as you say, but building one from scratch will take huge amount of time.

Heavy Duty Extrusion is very expensive here, and building in steel RHS has its difficulties as well. ( welding, machining and heat treating. )

More thinking required...lol

Hi Steve,

I agree with your comments about heavy alloy extrusions. They are very expensive here as well. I'm told that it is because of the heat treatment and the high cost of energy (Electricity) here. The big six have all pushed the prices up by around 10%.

Brexit didn't do us any good either, we are still buying Polish coal, and importing electricity from Europe, though power stations like Drax, not to far away from us, is rapidly moving over to wood pellets imported from Canada and other places.

The Chinese are gradually taking over what were key markets in the UK and Europe. There are several Chinese warehouses here now ! I'm noticing that some of the Banggood and Aliexpress advertisements are offering delivery from the UK, Poland and Russia besides China.
