Not a tool I often use, but at times a padsaw is very useful for getting into spaces where a hacksaw won't fit.
I'm talking about the type of padsaw that takes normal hacksaw blades.
I used to lament how prone they are to bending or breaking blades, being as they are only supported at one end.
Then it dawned on me to install the blade so that it cuts on the back-stroke, like a Japanese wood saw.
No more blade problems.
It's probably a well known technique, but I've never seen one sold with instructions.
