Just wondering is there any interest in cast iron swarf ?

I’ve never seen it used as scrap in the ferrous foundries I’ve worked in.
An old iron founder I know who was making chairs etc in isocyanides ( foam)was using iron swarf as filling in the epoxy moulds.
He was getting it from Lewis pulleys when they were in Mascot.
He wanted the moulds to retain heat so used iron rather than Al swarf which was the usual filler with epoxy.
One good thing about iron is there should be no contamination with cutting fluid etc.
I used to make the bucks for him.

One of the guys at work takes a couple of boxes home every now and then, apparently it's good for lemon trees
