G'day All,
I have been around metal work on and off from birth. Dad had a structural engineering shop. Grand father was a blacksmith on one side, and Mums grandfather was Chief Engineer narrow gauge rail in Victoria. I went to a technical school and learnt the basics. Apart from a bit of welding and automotive restoration at home I didn't work in metal at all. I am currently building both a milling machine and a lathe from what ever I can beg. My milling machine has a grinder attached until a I can get a basic lathe up and running and finish the gear box and drive. The lathe is a collection of parts but I have made the base and head stock. I need a large sheet metal press to make the swarf tray. So have just started that. I have a full range of welders, grinders etc. My workshop is 21m X 9m but is mostly full of restored and unrestored cars.
