Have totally rebuild a 2002 Commodore engine and transmission and before I go about the fitting I want to weld in a transmission drain plug.
I live in Emerald Qld and no one sells them locally and I've even visited the wreckers thinking I could remove one from a engine sump but they don't sell loose sumps.
Have looked online and haven't found any either well not in Australia that is.
Would like one like in the picture that I can Tig weld into the bottom of the pan.

Hi, probably the easiest thing would be to get an engine replacement sump plug and washer, then get a local engineering business to turn up a threaded ring to take the plug, if a member on here isn't able to help you. Can't remember if we have any members in Emerald.
Found 2 Commodore engine sumps on Gumtree in Qld if that helps. Do you have a local scrap metal merchant there, any steel sump would do, to get that part?
Welcome to the forum by the way.

You could probably just use an old nut and bolt M16 cut down to suit together with a copper or fibre washer? Doesn't have to be too high tech you would think or am I missing something?
