Nutsert tool on eBay

This is one of those cases where it looks too good to be true.

I was thinking about getting one of these. More expensive elsewhere on eBay and everywhere else. My question is, do you think eBay will honor the Money Back Guarantee if I don't get what I pay for?

The eBay money back guarantee is only on the purchasing process, ether product does not arrive or product does not match the original product description.
The way this is determined is from things like matching photos which would show a different item, or missing/damaged components.

As far as I know the eBay guarantee doesn't extend to the general performance of the product.
e.g. If the gun failed to insert a Nutsert you would have to take that up with the seller or manufacturer.

I'd put that tool in the category of "suitable for light use and instead of lasting for 2 decades it might last for one". Given the price I'd say that was fair enough.
If you are going to use it extensively I'd look for something else but for DIY light use (and even if it doesn't have an M8 tool) it looks pretty good to me.

If you buy it I'd like to know how you go with it.

I have a blind rivetter that is contructed very similar to that. The head can be removed and repositioned directly in line with the handles for hard to reach areas. I suspect that all that would be required to turn it into a nutsert is the inserts. In an emergency these could made up to suit. The head looks identical.

Something to try to remember. :rolleyes: I could have made use of nutserts yesterday. I was mounting an amplifier under the passenger seat of my car. I sat it on 20mm blocks to allow air flow underneath and had to go to 50mm long self tapping screws to secure it due to the carpet fit (unfit) on the floor. I don't like the idea of self tapping screw points under the car. If I have to get under there? Gee it is easy to drill thru car panels these days. I also put a 24mm diam hole thru the firewall and was surprised at how easy this was. The 10mm diam power cable did not want to go thru any of the existing access grommets. I rerouted the sub amp cable while I was at it. At 8# it looks tiny next to the main amp cable.

Just to clarify this is a multi purpose tool. It does Rivets, Nutserts and Stud Inserts. Not worried about the quality so much as the price this is listed for. It's way cheaper than other eBay listings and such. I want it for versatility for light use for the smaller Rivets, Nutserts etc. I have heavier duty tools for the bigger jobs. My concern is it's a new seller with zero feedback.

I'm tempted to purchase the cheaper one just to find out if I actually get it or not. Estimated delivery time is a long way off though.

Why? There is such a thing as having a stereo with quality sound you know! :rolleyes: Douf, douf music I have heard it called. They choose the music just so they can impress everyone with their sub woofer and would not know the meaning of balanced sound.

This is just the wire that came in the kit with the amp. I was a bit surprised myself although I am wondering what sort of wire it is. The silicon insulation (horrible to strip) says it is 4 AWG Oxygen Free. I suspect it is aluminium. The power cable looks like it is copper tinned, not tinned copper. Cut it off and it is silver. The earth cable is just silver.

I have fitted this stereo for good quality sound. I bought my first high end home audio system when I was 17. I thought I would improve the car sound system. The stereo is worth more than the car.

No communication as yet. Will send a message in a day or two. Really don't expect an answer though. There were three or four listed all ending about the same time. After paying for mine the other listings disappeared when I checked the next morning. I bought the night before, as i would have been at work when the listing ended. I will also contact eBay again sometime to see what they have to say. Will let you know the outcome.

I ran into that issue some time back. I was refunded by the seller and then eventually the item arrived. When I tried to contact the seller to inform them there was no way to do so. The listing was totally gone.

Well eBay wasted no time with this one. Sent a message through eBay asking seller to contact me and send the item, or issue a refund. eBay contacted me also and only after one day, have issued me a refund through PayPal. Who knows I may also get the tool eventually but not holding my breath.

I have 35mm2 welding cables on my welder leads and that is the best use for them. I have about 0.25mm2 cable on the amp gauge on my lathe. That is all I would use, even in a car. I learnt many years ago that running full current thru an amp meter is a potential disaster. It was not my disaster fortunately. $20 from EBay will give you a digital Amp Volt meter. I refuse to use any other sort.

The 35mm was for the old amp... was a hungry bugger, an old school Jaycar 4x100w I had it running 2ch's for the mains and 2ch's were bridged to the 12" sub(330wrms).
I dont really need it anymore as I upgraded to an Alpine 5ch D class amp, 4awg would be fine and the 4x100 was very much overkill in a single cab ute :D

.25mm2 cable would melt on my amp, you only got 14volts at best any voltage drop can dramatically decrease the clean output... often at the cost of "headroom" not so good for SQ.

Yes you do need quite a bit of power for a ute. :D Sadly the new head unit I bought does not work. It will have to go back. The amp works great with the old head unit tho. I just can't use the SD card. I will have to start using DVD's for mp3 music. One of the reasons for the new unit was that it plays Flac, apparently.
