Hi All,

One of the six GU10 Led bulbs in the kitchen went out yesterday, so I thought that I would take it apart and have a look inside.

The fault turned out to be a simple failure of one of the 24 tripple led IC's.

I have drawn the circuit diagram shown with the bad led marked and the componet values along with the circuit board. These are cheap Chinese made GU10 bulbs intended to run on 240 volt 50 Hz mains. The housing is all glass with a ceramic base. Apart from the cover glass that was super glued in the rest was just hung loose inside. Each of the IC's has three independant led devices, wired in parallel, the IC's are wired in a series string of 24 devices soldered to an aluminium backed PCB which also acts as a heatsink for the led's.
