Not sure if these really classify as a machine but I'm going to stretch the diff ignition because it was the steam rally that prompted me to find this.

I have an old English Tilly lantern, missing a few bits and a bit rusty.

The pump has no compression so will need new valves/seals, glass is missing and no box or accessories. I believe there should be a lighter and a funnel at least. Will also need mantles.

There is a bloke who refurbishes and sells spares for Colemans at Lake Goldsmith does anyone know who he is?

I'd like to restore my Tilly to working condition if it isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg.

Hi DSEL74,

I have a few of the old brass Kero blowtorches and a cooker, they're fantastic and they look great, the pump seal is a small piece of leather that eventually rots away and needs replacing, I have an old leather glove that I cut new seals out of, good luck restoring it.

Can we see some pics?

Thanks for the link I don't get into the city much so I may email them the photos and see what they have to say and maybe get an estimate for parts.

Hi Dale
funny story, I did exactly the same as you but I walked around Goldsmith all day with a bloke who collects and restores them, mainly Colemans but pretty much the same thing. He had a long chat with the guy you are talking about and I overheard that he was from the Shepparton area. I can find out as I think he got the blokes card. Like you I fell in love with them and I think my dad has one so might have to ring him and see if he needs it anymore. :D
My mate bought a seal from made from camel hide and only cost him $2. He reckons that blokes prices were ok on most things but not so on some other bits.
I'll see what I can find out.

You want this web site:
Classic Camp Stoves (http://www.spiritburner.com/)

It is dedicated to kero burners and other old stoves. Tempted to say 'ultimate source of knowledge' on such things.

Cheers
