In actual use in places like Japanese occupied Borneo and Malaya , the clandestine parties that used these generators had a problem , in that, finding dry wood for fuel was always difficult.

Some of these generators have turned up here in Australia, I spotted a generator unit on EBAY recently , but the boiler unit is usually always missing.

Typically the steam units charged lead acid batteries , the wireless equipment was normally the B2 suitcase set . The B2 was declared surplus and sold here in large numbers just after war . The ham radio fraternity purchased many of these sets , I have owned 3 of the B2 sets myself .
