So I made this for my gunsmithing tools chest...a small lead hammer

362176

Had the knurled alloy bit from a broken extendable inspection mirror...some scrap brass and some contaminated scrap lead projectiles.

I tend to forget how many tools in a fitter's box used to be self made. Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Eskimo,

That is a pretty little knocking stick :) I really like the handle...

Making one is something that I've been meaning to do for quite some time. I even acquired a small lump of lead from an old wooden lead lined toilet cistern to make one.

i made a couple of lead hammers after seeing one with an old milling machine that i bought a most usefull tool.. had to make 2 because the first one was too heavy for me to lift with dodgy arms and wrists and not nearly as neat and pretty as yours
