Can't seem to find much info on Wagner but they may have been a Melbourne based manufacturer. The saw happens to be an identical twin of the USA made Marvel Draw Cut Saw No#2, made by Armstrong-Blum Mfg Co Chicago circa 1910.

The company still exists and still has some parts in stock for the marvel. I read that if parts aren't available then they will supply the blueprints so you can make your own. How cool is that company.

I was also able to find the manual as a pdf.

A few US companies are like that.
I chased up info on a 24" Oliver jointer of the twenties vintage a few years back and they sent me drawings.
Nice looking saw:2tsup:.

I think it is a shame more companies don't do this and support old models rather than dump old stock.

I have sent off an email to see if they still are able to assist, even though mine is a copy.

You can see why it got abbreviated to power saw. An ad from the 1920's...

"Wagner engineers draw cut hack saw" 05 Apr 1922 - Advertising - Trove (http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/20529661?searchTerm=%22draw%20cut%20saw%22&searchLimits=)

Gave the saw a bit of a light clean today and a run. She is a fantastic piece of engineering. There is a rack starting height so you can set it to start just above the job height. Also a clutch start with mechanical disengage which trips at the finish of the cut. I like this saw better than my McPhearsons, although that does have a suds pump, or my Lotze.
