Hopefully I'm not stepping on any toes, but I thought I might create a thread which has links to metalworking projects that we've found on other sites. I've seen some beauties over time, which are ideal to browse through on a quiet or rainy day, and sometimes I wish I could find old ones I've seen again but for the life of me cannot find it in my bookmarks nor through Google.

One I've just started going through - The alteration of a BMW e39, I greatly enjoy it when someone does the majority of fabrication work themselves.

An old favourite of mine, I check up on it from time to time, and I've shared it here and there a few times. Basically, fellow begins a huge vehicle customisation project, and it turns into him creating his own engineering business. He builds his own 100T press, and I believe he managed to score himself a robotic manufacturing arm! That's all alongside making his own vehicle chassis frame, an interesting suspension setup, and a number of other curious bits and pieces.

Hydraulic tube bender, to do with a senior engineering studies project. A very impressive device!

Please feel free to add your own, I love seeing what some people create for themselves, as quite often I learn something new and useful, or at the very least gain a pleasant little feeling of motivation :)

Maybe this is better moved to the General section? Faced with complaints that there seemed to be too much Google-fu and not enough chips being created, this part of the forum was created for projects members themselves had done. Personally, on quiet and rainy days I use that time to ... make stuff

I like looking through this guy's website

GadgetBuilder's MiniLathe and Little Workshop (http://www.gadgetbuilder.com/index.html)

I realise it is mainly small stuff but very inspirational, to me anyway.

Haven't had time to explore this site fully, but it appears quite large and for those who like to work to plans, there are plenty: workshop stands, blasting cabinets, press brakes, belt grinders, welding vices, generators and so on.

Apparently not? Nothing like practicing your google fuing though!
