The narrator gets a little carried away at times , he states the Wirraways are "deadly fighting machines" :o

The narrator gets a little carried away at times...How many times can you fit the word "Australian" into a 10 minute narration? This guy must hold the record :D

Cheers, Vann.

Heh, I think the Zero pilots referred to them as slow moving targets.:U ...Still, when used in an appropriate way they gave sterling service.

Thanks for the nice pics Avery

Going to the Sunbury airshow years ago, a ute drove past on the main road with a Wirraway fuselage sitting with the tail end inside the ute and the rest of the fuselage out the back being towed along on wheels . They arrived and assembled the Wirraway as a static display .

I recall the sad prang at Nowra ? air show a few years back. A Wirraway flipped over on landing with both crew killed . I never knew the engines were manufactured here .
