Anyone know any thing about L. Goldie & Co. lathes?
Apparently they were an Australian made lathe out of Sydney.
One sold on ebay recently. Perhaps a forum member bought it.
Some pictures from the ebay ad and a Trove search possibly dating the lathe prior to 1921...

At Strathfield Menz Shed, we have a L. Goldie wood lathe owned by one of the members. It is a heavy pattern, reminds me of pattern-makers machines. Recently we took in a donation of what I think of as a horizontal (dowel) boring machine, also by L. Goldie.

Thanks for that AndrewOC. Might have to post in the wood workers area to see if any others know about the company and its products.
If I can get enough supporting info I'll put it to Lathes UK if Goldie & Co can be listed with the other Oz made lathes.

Goodie also made pinch rollers for gluing veneer onto substrate.
They were at Mortlake when we moved to Concord in 86.
Been a lot of redevelopment down there so not sure there's any sign of them still.
