I have an oil burner but never used it, it's from an old boiler. For ally though gas is more than enough and far easier to setup. If your in it for the challenge though, making an oil burner would be interesting.

I have an oil burner but never used it, it's from an old boiler.I had a burner from an old central heating system, but found it unsuitable for use in a furnace, as it was designed to heat a bigger area and the confined space of a furnace just choked it.

Can you use a 9kg gas bottle gas forge and turn it upright to melt Alu for casting?

Hi all, Looking for info about making an oil burner for melting aluminium There are many ideas on Youtube, in fact I am going down that road, the oilman, from NSW, is quite the man when it comes to simple, seems the only hard part is building the foundry, and in most cases, he just uses a large oil drum with fire bricks. here are a few of his links: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=waste+oil+foundry https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c39k04FhEEc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUSOczTBkWU I have plans to cast rods for turning.
