It's not especially cheap, but not right OTT either, but it does look in very nice nick, not mint, but close. Anyone seeking a nice Starrett 15" model 199 could do worse than this one.

Only 11 hours to go though, description on this and on many other items that seller has, is a bit sloppy, - he says that country of origin on the level is U.K. which I very much doubt, but he has an eclectic mix of stuff for sale, with a good lot of it pretty interesting. Shipping charges a bit hit and miss too.

The J&S does not have an internal spindle, only 2 arbors and he does not have the ability to load.

Thinking thinking.....

He really needs one of these or something similar .RC, and this one is nice and compact and won't take up too much shed space.:U

What would you use it for? Grinding cylinder bores? Sort of a horizontal version of Stuart's Hauser isn't it.. I'm imagining the grinding head is moving in circles ( planetary fashion )

It can do internal and external grinding depending on how it is set up.

You sure about that?
Like mine, it doesnt seem to have any U axis other than the eccentric.
So while mine can do external grinding, its just a tad limited, with a 0.040" wheel I can external grinder anything up to 0.060" :D

At least as I understand it, hopefully I'm wrong.

Well , you may be right Stuart, the machine shown is a bit small. We had a larger version (Heald) in the machine shop at TAA/Australian Airlines that we used for external as well as internal grinding. Ansett had one as well.
