Thought I would give the pump the once over so I was sure everything was ok with it. I suspected something was loose inside the case. When I opened it up I found that the strap that holds the pump motor to the case was a bit loose and the rubber cushioning between motor and case was floating around inside. This has now been fixed with a new strap made from a strip of thick aluminium flat shaped to fit the motor and mounting points in the case. The original was very thin perforated steel strip and I suspect, stretched a bit over time. Also replaced the rubber cushioning between case and motor with a piece of thick rubber hose, split and fitted to the curve of the case where the motor is clamped in. I have also added threaded inserts to the base and fitted rubber feet to it. These can be removed if needed allowing the pump to be mounted in a fixed location. There was also a little piece or two broken away from where the oil filler flange locates inside the case so I installed two small screws through the case to lock this in place and to stop it rotating when the filler plug is removed or refitted.

My batteries in my 4WD just died on me so I am now a bit desperate and willing to let this go for the price of replacing the batteries. $400.00 plus transport cost. That should be around $50 if I send it through Smart Send. So $450.00 is now the price. Anyone want a bargain?
