I am looking for a Horizontal bandsaw, cold cut saw or similar (either single or 3 phase) to cut 100x100 shs. Ideally not Chinese. Budget is up to $1000. Anyone have something that might suit?

Not what you have asked for, but I do have an old solid power hacksaw which should do that job. Three phase. Coolant pump etc. Will take a photo if you think you may be interested.

Thanks Frank,

No harm in having a look. If you can send or post a picture this would be great.

Len,
Its pretty well buried in the corner, but here are two photos. Which may give you some idea of what it looks like.

Thanks Frank,
Not sure this is what I am looking for - however it is difficult to tell from the photo. Is it in working order? What it the cutting capacity?

Len,
Assuming it still works, been years since it was used. Couldn't get the right length blades for it so purchased the next size down and haven't yet made up a holding block to attach end of blade to end of saw.
would easily cut 100 x 100

If you only have a few cuts to do just mark each side and use a 4 or 5" grinder with one of the thin cutting blades. I found they worked really good and could cut accurately on the trailer I just finished.

If you want to have a look at it, you would probably have to dig it out yourself, I've got too much on my plate at the moment.

cheers
