    Hi Elan,

    The standards are a fixed length ! Its the bar that fits in the head unit that can be adjusted for length. Anyway the one you have is digital, so it becomes self calibrating. Simply use the standard between the bar and end reference and then zero the read out. My Moore & Wright is mechanical so the measuring bar has to be adjusted and then fine adjustment is done with a "C" spanner. Actually two of them, to lock the nuts together.

    Ah that makes much more sense. Tesa doesn't provide adjustment on the anvils, even on their analogue models, they basically go with "we get it right so you don't have to". That does mean that if one out of the set is damaged or lost you have to replace all of them.
