Where I work we get a service tech to come out and service our conventional mills and lathes. CNC verticle machining centres are a different horse altogether.

I paid $363.00 to have the mill moved. Total crane trucks are a professional outfit and made it look easy. All good, the mill works beautifully.

I did what stustoys suggested a few years ago, it is good thing to practice on! where I worked all the 3 point mikes had their reference Master rings to assist in calibration checks.

As pipeclay said the trough covers stop swarf entering the trough, they are of metal mesh construction.
The motor is 3 HP and the spindle taper is NT30. I am using a phase converter as the machine...
