Default Online supplier of small screws

I'm looking for an online supplier of small (1.5 - 2.0mm) button head cap screws.

I normally buy fasteners from Bolts and Industrial Supplies in QLD but the smallest they have is 3mm.

You could try optometry shop suppliers for tiny screws and taps, I don't know if they are metric though.

I've bought CS cap screws down to 2mm ( I think) from Coventys here in WA. They used to be called Sweetmans until a couple of years ago.

Thanks for the list of suppliers.
Some of these don't provide an online sales facility so are out for now - no transport.

From the others, I found that some stock small enough UNF screws but the smallest metric is 3mm. The only reason I mentioned metric in my original post was that I have a reasonable set of metric taps but no imperial stuff. This is not a problem if I can get suitable taps from the same source.

I need these small screws (2mm x 10mm) so I can modify the scales I've mounted on the mill for use with a DRO. As I have to tap the scale reader body, it doesn't really matter what thread they are as long as they are small enough to go through the holes in the PCB part of the scale.
I've had the DRO sitting finished on my desk for a couple of weeks and it's frustrating being held up by such a minor issue. It's times like this I wish I had a car!

    There's 5 screws in each scale x 3 so a total of 15.
Some of the places I've looked at will sell by the 1 off, others want you to buy a box (usually 50).
A quick measure of the holes in the PCB show them to be 2mm diameter and this is what sets the maximum size I can use..

On a related note, is there a chart of UNC/UNF to screw 'gauge' sizes? I have a number of tables for UNC/UNF and they use sizes like 1-64, 2-56 for the smaller sizes. My usual online fastener source shows their smallest size of UNC screws shown as 2G?

I think the smallest I have is 6BA which would be about 2.75mm. I'll check in the morning.
This has the full list of unc unf.. but just because they appear in a table doesnt mean you can get them.

    Hi Snowyskiesau,

Same site as before, but his time, I've linked directly to the M2x12 button head stainless cap screws.. they are an on-line supplier.

    Stuart,
    Thanks for looking anyway.
    ----------------------------------

I went to a local RC hobby shop this morning after seeing what I wanted in their online catalogue - 2mm screws and threaded rod as well as 2-56 screws, nuts etc.
None of this was in stock despite the web pages showing a positive stock level. Seems that the web store database is not the same as the instore POS database.

I then went into the city to visit Hobbyco. Seem that modelling these days means putting together plastic kits not actually building you own from plans. They didn't have any fasteners but to be fair, they did have some spots on one of the display walls that looks as if it once held nuts and bolts.

This tapping drill chart gives the particulars of the small American number threads including the major and minor diameters and TPI. Note there are, in most cases, two pitches for each screw number size, e.g. 2-56 and 2-64. There are three pitches for the largest #12 size.

There is a similar metric chart.
