Hello Aaron,
The chuck was in reasonable nick although there was a lot of galling on the nut. I cleaned the nut up in the lathe and used a fine diamond file to remove the galling. The end results are acceptable. Here is the seller's photo.

toady i got some more drill bits a brand new mitutoyo veriner. a never used set of more and wright telescoping gauges. and some brass, aluminium and acetal. for $90
-
good score mate. ive been meaning to get the telescopic gauges haven't yet got around to it.
have u used telescopic gauges before. you seem to know what to look for.have you got mates in to matching as well.,
-
no i have never used telescoping gauges before and no non of my mates are into machining. i mostly know what to look for from reading every book i have found on machining trolling through metalworking forums and watching you tube videos.
-
cool. you know i think the telescopic gauge is basically as good as an inside micrometer. Even if im using a inside mike to measure a bore i don't rely in the mike graduations.I just measure the inside mic with the out side mike as you would do with the teliscopic gauge.. The telescopic gauge is i think easer to handle than the inside micrometer. What do you think is the no. 1 thing you would like to buy tooling wise?.
-
probably would be a dividing head and rotary table and secondly would be a workbench with cabinets underneath to put tooling
-
ya i can understand the dividing head.you know some dividing heads tilt from horizontal to vertical.
not shore if the dividing head in vertical mode would be as good as a rotary table but maybe.
im just fitting some draw sliders under a work bench at the moment for that very reason.
-
I would go for a rotary table with dividing plates if you buy one new, second hand you take whats available and the right price.:D
If I lived up your way I would stalk you to find out where your buying them from.:D

all this stuff is from a factory that was closing down the worst bit was the Bridgeport mill was sold and so was the Russian lathe the price was so sad $2000 for the lathe and $800 for the bridgeport. they where making everything at this place he has about 20 automatic lathes. 4 automatic mill and some punching machines.

got some more $150 for this stuff. he also wants me to buy his sidrome sockets and various hand tools what should i offer him.
-
here are the tools he wants me to buy
-
Some nice gear their, and I really like the level.
Those little pieces down the left hand corner are for your dial indicator.
As for what the sockets are worth, I think that socket set sells for around $200 new, so that gives you some idea.

would $500 be a fair price for the hand tools (all of the money i have saved up) there is also a German set of spanners.
