    Default Bearing bronze

I am after a little bit of bearing bronze for a couple of small bushings that I need to make up. Have checked some bearing places they are only willing to sell min 300 mm lengths of 1" diameter at around $55. Would anyone have around a 40 mm length that they can spare or know where I can pick some up, don't really want 300 mm when I'll only use a fraction of it.

I bought some bronze bushes from my local bearing supplier the other day. 12ID, 20 OD and about $5 each.

Would think something like this would be your best go, or visit a local machine shop and see if they have a scrap.

M&G (the guys in the link) only sell by the 300mm length. That said, their prices are good.

For small quantities, try this supplier:

    E&J Winter - PHOS. BRONZE ROD - 1" dia $9.58 per 25mm

Also on eBay - Offcuts Galore - Currently nothing available

    Hi Tiger,

If your able to get there Highett metals (Boundary Rd Braeside) have a good range of this stuff. I was in there yesterday and saw a length of around 1" Dia on the floor.

if you want a short length you'd best take a hacksaw with you because they wont cut it.

their prices are usually pretty good.
