MT-3 slitting saw arbors
Hello everyone,
Have just ordered a HM-45 mill from Hare and Forbes. I'm after a slitting saw arbor to fit it(MT-3). H+F don't stock them. Does anyone know of an Australian supplier who does? I've googled for a couple of hours with no luck.
Thanks
Dave

Try McJings in Yagoona they have stuff not listed on the website and are most helpful.
Give em a ring and ask they will have a look, and will mail if you can't pick-up. Guess you won't be able to pick-up just saw you're in Tassie.

People will say you shouldnt do this but have you thought of adapting a No2 to fit a No3 shank, you can weld the 2 to the 3,you may have to adjust the end of the 2 to fit.
If you have access to a lathe make your own.

Generally some listed in metalwork, woodwork section under Business Industrial on ebay. Looked just now and could only find R8 ones from England. Someone in Vic often lists them, also does swap meets etc .

Closer to home, check out item #170224514986 on eBay. (tissuescars)
The one he has advertised is an MT2, but if you contact the seller, you might be in luck.
I purchased an MT3 arbor, 1" dia, from him just recently, new and less than $40, I think.

Cheapest way, assuming you have the MT2 version of the arbor - if not thy're easy to find, is to get an MT3 to MT2 adaptor. Try McJings www.mcjing.com.au
