SOLD-Antique Lathe - good home needed-SOLD
SOLD
Pictured is a nice little lathe that I would like to go to someone who will restore or just look after it.
This looks as if it has been modified from an old foot powered (velocipede) lathe. Here are acouple of web links to stuff I could find out about the make.

It is made by WF & J Barnes, Rockford, Illinois. I think it is about 125 years old. You can see that it has been modified to run on a single phase motor, albeit dangerously as there is no guarding on the belts.
I Hope someone can use it or advise what to do with it. I will put it up on the Buy / sell/ swap once I get an idea what it is worth. Anything over $300 would make me happy. Maybe I am being over /under optimistic?
Looking forward to some wisdom from the oracles, or just some info on this type of machine.Last edited by DJ’s Timber; 2nd Apr 2008 at 10:05 PM.

Dunno anything about it, but it looks like a treasure and a real find.
From your skyline I reckon your west of the North Melbourne railway station (Dynon??) which means my old ute could get there.
When you've got it all sussed.....give me a yell.
