    Default Titanium

Anyone know a supplier of Titanium? I need a piece of 8mm tube or rod about 300mm long. I Googled but came up with very little useful info.

Its hard enough finding small quanitites of various types of high grade steel or heat treatable aluminium here in Australia. Titanium is a bit exotic.

However, for a 30cm rod, even air freight from the states isnt going to break the bank. But if it really must be Australian sourced:

These people may be able to help.

    Or these.

The only reason I prefer Austarlian sources for small stuff like this is the problem of freight. If the supplier will use air mail then there is no problem, but get UPS or other freight companies involved as a lot of suppliers want to and the problems start. I had a very small item freighted to Australia by UPS and they wanted $50 customs opening fee to release it. This is a standard fee they charge everyone but it is a funny thing that if that item were to come into Australia by airmail there would be no fee charged by Australia Post. We had what is known as a robust conversation regarding this and they waived the fee but said they would not do it again. They won't have to as I won't use them again.

Aircraft engine fuel pipe sounds like the go. Try an aircraft scrapping yard.
