Belt grinder wheel bore size
Hi all. I'm struggling to find a supplier that makes or custom machines a 5" drive wheel to suit my drive shaft of 28mm. Anyone got any suppliers to suggest? I'm in Oz but can order internationally.

Hi Tim,
Please provide more details along with either a photo or drawing/sketch with dimensions and perhaps I can help you out.

As David mentioned, more details please. Are you after a 5" pulley with a 28mm bore??
What size belt will be fitted to it? Your request is a bit like saying "How long a piece of string will I need to go around this??"
Welcome to a TOP FORUM by the way.

It might be a bit expensive to post from Arizona to South Australia but thanks for offering to help. It might pay to give these guys a call

Tim said he has the capability to order internationally. He is asking for a source for a modified or custom machined part. So I can't see where the postage from US to Australia is really a problem.
If we knew the width of the wheel, along with some other details - there may be a source that we can locate to order it. Shipping from US to Australia or New Zealand is around $33 via USPS Priority Mail International Small Flat Rate Box. Perhaps we can locate one closer - But - we need more details to help Tim out.

If you cant bore out a pulley yourself then do a search for "power transmission supplies" in your area.
A power transmission supply business will supply you with a 5" pulley and they will bore the shaft hole to the dimension that you require....... and they will also put a keyway in it if you want.....
cheers, shed
duh..... drive wheel !!!!! same, take it to a power transmission supply business

Here is a 5" drive wheel with 24mm bore. Surely one of your buddies can bore this out to 28mm for you. Price is $59.99.

The OP is probably not going to respond to his original post. So I think this post is dead. Thanks to all who responded.
