Lifting help near Albury Wodonga
Hi everyone, myself and another sadistic lathe transporting fiend are going to try and swap loads at the border, he's going to have an astoba UW1 for me and me a schaublin 102 for him.
Does anyone know anyone up there with any lifting equipment? Both machines are well under a ton so worst case I can dismantle my gantry and haul it up there but I'd like to avoid the weight.
Any help appreciated.

Yeah mate, when are you planning the swap? I have an engine crane and sling you can borrow and I can throw it in the back of my ute and meet you.

You are welcome to use my forklift in a worst case scenario. I am located 38ks on the Kyabram side of Shepparton. Fork is a 1.5 tonner.
I am sure you will be able to find something more convenient to you both.

Thanks guys I'll be there on Saturday of the Anzac weekend. Is it a long trip for you Ned I don't want to inconvenience you or waste precious workshop time.

Sounds like a hostage swap.

Unfortunately I didn't get any close up pics of the Astoba but I'm sure caskwarrior will post some pics of it if you ask nicely.
Cheers,
Ben

Everyone involved was great, although I'm pretty sick of dismantling and reassembling that gantry now.
I just unloaded it at my house today I'll pop some up tomorrow.
Driving that GMC makes me feel pretty guilty. $235 in fuel just going to Wodonga and back.

I'm the lanky fool in green pants, and the dinged up blue ute is my go to real estate devaluation tool.

As my mother used to say "I never remember a name, but I always forget a face".
