Magnefying table
Years ago I saw a device for magnefying outlines. It had all lenses and mirrors. You put the tool on the table and looked at it on a light screen magnified and to scale. There must be similar things now using cameras and screens. Does anyone know of such a thing?

What you are looking for is called a number of different things, but optical comparator or shadowgraph should get you what you want.

Or on a larger scale, if signwriters wanted to make a sign that included a big version of say a customer provided small emblem, they would fix a sheet of sign material to the wall of the shed, use a projector device to throw an enlarged image of the emblem onto the sheet, then paint to the image.
This was pre scanners computers and CNC sign cutters of course.

I worked for a sign writer some (many) years back and he had a device called an epidiascope - rotating a lever on the side opened a door (just smaller than A4 size) on the bottom - an image or anything reasonably flat for that matter was then placed on the door the lever was rotated back - the door lifted and shut and an enlarged image of the object was projected onto a screen/wall etc. focusing and image sizing etc worked the same way a slide projector.
How big is the thing you are wanting to magnify ? you might want to checkout USB microscope they can display an enlarged image onto a lcd screen or even a mobile phone they can go to over 1000X, ebay is a good place to start looking.
