Thanks Baron absolutely love this lathe having a bunch of fun with it, i was umming and arring if i should place the cutting tip 45 or 90 degrees will there be any flex if i go 45? While i was machining the 6mm diameter i noticed the thin end was ever so slightly flexing but it was pulling back into line and machining
Do u think i can use the round allen head lock bolt or should i get the M5 grub screw?

Hi Gazza,
It hardly matters which screw you use ! As long as it doesn't interfere with the work piece or the chuck.
One trick I have used with a much larger diameter round boring bar used to get into a fairly deep blind hole, is to drill through the threads of a cap screw, just under the head, in my case a 1/8" inch round carbide pin and screw it into a threaded hole in the end of the boring bar. The idea being to trap and secure the toolbit with the screw.Best Regards:
Baron J.
