Default Turn a Ballpoint Pen Into a Metal Scriber

I use a scriber pretty much every day, biggest problem is that I put it down and being round, it tends to roll, usually under the bench.
Had this idea emailed to me, have added it to my TODO list and thought others might like it also.

yeah something like that would probably work, i'd less likely leave it around as someone else would probably take it!

Only problem I can see is this, ------------ what do you do when you have blunted the point, you will only get a few extra sharpens and then have to make another or give it the flick.

It sounds to me like you have not owned a tungsten carbide tipped scriber for any length of time.

I have a magnetic end Tungsten tip scriber for several years that has never required sharpening.Even the cheap $5 models seem to last.

Other scribers I made made from carbon steel have required re sharpening. I made heaps of these as the school students seemed to "lose" a tungsten one real quick, but not so, the ones made from concrete nails.

To enable pocket storage I slip a non retractable biro cap over the sharp point.
