That's a rough way to learn and I understand the frustration! I actually found someone with an XRF scanner that will scan the metal for free, so I'm super excited about that, both because I now know a place that has an XRF scanner!
Now I just need to figure out what to do with the 4' x 10' 20g 430series stainless. If i find some good uses, there's 20 more sheets available at a very good price.

Note well the comments made about welding it. Basically it should be welded using the non welding arc processes, spot welding for instance.
