Default Handy Solid Chunky Ruler/Square Idea

At approx 1:20 in this video or see attached screenshot.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mZhOlr5v-s

Seems to be more solid and useful than the usual little sliding dovetail gadget that is commonly stuck onto rulers. (Although I was terribly chuffed when I was able to make my one)

Added to the list of things I make oneday .......... unless somebody says "Dont bother you can buy one here www.?????.com"

Some fairly amusing parts in the rest of the video.

I have a home made one here that I inherited from my uncle though it doesn't have any measurements on there.

Most of the time i'll just use a combination square. Sometimes it is handy to have a few around when you are doing repetitive type work so you don't have to keep readjusting.

There is also a tool that fits a 300mm rule made by Smith & Arrow (the abrasives people) that works along the same lines as the one jack620 posted.

I prefer the 150mm adjustable squares and like Com_VC have a couple of them.

I have one but barely use it because I got their 150mm square at the same time. It’s metric only and a really handy size.

Apologies as the above is a link to the dovetail bit you didn’t like.

Many thanks gents, spoilt for choice.

I did try some googling but got heaps of slide rules and dovetail markers and caliper gauges - using the wrong search keywords.
