Agreed.
H&F have a sale on so I went to look at one (K2-MT2 tapping chuck). I wus wrong thinking it was a take-off of the older (and maybe current) Procunier design: the drive torque goes through a cone clutch transmitting the feed force from the quill, so there is measure of drive torque regulation relating how hard you push the quill down. The H&F cheapies seem to have a drive that engages like a dog clutch - makes for a good tap buster.
