Now that was really neat, thanks for posting. I wonder what the chances are that he is saddled with O.C.D or something in the Aspergers syndrome spectrum of disorders. He has talent to burn for sure.

OCD doesnt make you do that. Obsessive compulsive disorder means that you tend to do ritualistic compulsions, something like washing your hands over and over. A compulsion isnt doing metalwork, a compulsion is something that isnt based in logic or sound methodology. A sufferer of OCD knows that theyve washed their hands, but they are irrationally worried that theyve missed a spot, or didnt use enough soap, or the water was too warm and there was bacteria, so the compulsion is to do it again. And again, and again...
Aspies (high functioning autism) can develop an abnormally strong passion for a specific subject and autism in general does sometimes present with difficulties in social interaction. If he was doing this job completely on his own, working long hours to the exclusion of many other things that people engage in (like lots of time at the pub, talking to mates, playing footy on the weekend etc), then its a possibility. Interestingly, metalwork does attract a bit of this, because aspies do like routine and logical progression of events. Their ability to focus on something like machining for long periods of time with a high degree of competency makes them pretty valuable employees. Check THIS out.
Scottyd, an aspie.

You'd need to be a genius to design it, let alone build it.

Thanks for putting me straight on O.C.D. Scottyd, I was confusing myself with the wrong syndrome, I should have said ADHD, not OCD. Both ADHD and Aspergers can have high functioning individuals, and Seth by any measure is high functioning. It does not automatically follow that he is an "aspie" or an ADHDer, but that amazing and intricate work that he does can be a pointer to those syndromes.
One thing is pretty certain, whatever his personal situation, he is wonderfully gifted as an artisan.

Hey Scotty, thanks for sharing mate.
SimonGirl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

Interesting video.
Lets be honest tho, if u look hard enough, u will find something "wrong" with everyone.
Seems to be this obsession with labelling people these days. Whats wrong with just saying we are all individuals and come with our own good/bad attributes.
I will start with my own self diagnosis (supported by wife) by saying I'm a bit OCD.Frisky wife, happy life. Then I woke up. Oh well it was fun while it lasted. From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".

Not just mentally but also physically.
My GP says if you poke and prod someone long enough you will always find something.
Im 2016 went to the GP because of sore feet and after a series of specialist visits, blood tests and scans I came away with a diagnosis of Sarcoidosis and the fact that I had only one kidney neither of which are related to sore feet..
The sore feet pains went away by themselves after I started doing some exercise.
After all this SWMBO said, "still haven't found the worms in your head?"
