    Default Sandvik Training Handbook

Not sure if this has been posted before, but here's a link to the Sandvik Training handbook
    https://ec-s.s3.amazonaws.com/2013/m...G.pdf?lt=False

Its a largish download (120MB) but as a relative newbie probably the best reference I've found about insert selection and affects of different styles and geometry etc.
I realise its more directed at production work, but found it presented in a way that just clicked with me.
Things such as using boring tools with high lead angles creates more radial force and therefore deflection - obvious once its stated but something I hadn't thought about.
All the references are about inserts, but the general geometry differences will apply to HSS tools too I guess. Things such as nose radius compared to DOC, lead angles and radial force, tendency of different geometries to chatter.

I've only gone through the turning chapter so far, but thought others might find it useful.

    Hi Steve,

For some reason I was unable to get that link to work. This one worked - https://www.sandvik.coromant.com/en-...c%22:%5B%5D%7D

    Certainly a comprehensive resource!

    Thank you
    Bob.
