Metal Size
I want to build a hoist to lift a max of 200 KG. This is the hoist that I am going to use. Hoist.jpg What size metal tube should I use if the tube will span a distance of 2m? The hoist will be located about 2m high.
Thanks

Is it going to span (fixed at both ends) or only supported at one end.

It will have wooden 100mm x 100mm posts at both ends. The tube will be secured to the top of the posts.

If that's the case you could get away with 50 x 50 x 3mm but 50x50x5mm would be better. I have the same hoist, the hoist itself is about 400mm long, so that only leaves 800mm either side.
The 2 ton engine crane I have is all 3mm and only supported on one endUsing Tapatalk
