Default Lathe chuck removal shaft collar wedges

    Hi all!

I have come up with a great idea which allows for very easy removal of chuck from a threaded spindle.
The part is made of plastic so it wont damage the threads and sits on the spindle behind the chuck which can be slammed on hard, and removed just as easily.

No need for any spindle locks, back gears, etc.

All that is needed is a screwdriver.

I have so far run the lathe and the chuck has not come loose.

Sounds like a fantastic idea, will it fit any threaded nose? Asking as I have a WW lathe also.

I can custom fit it to any threaded spindle machine, all I need is the diameter of the spindle and spindle length (the part currently takes 6mm from the spindle, maybe some tweaking can get it down to 4mm).
Currently I have it equipt on a Hercus 260G, I have removed the chuck about 4 times now and the part is still in great condition, so it can be used multiple times despite it being made of plastic.

I am planning to make these chuck removal wedges and sell them for $15 a set + shipping (have to check at post office, probably around $5).
There will be no extra cost for custom sizes, they will just be added to the size database.
