    Seems this guy has the same problem you. Might give you some ideas for regrinding the taper:

    It's now solved. I ended up matching the taper of a collet block I had with the compound in my lathe, and remachining the taper on each chuck. The finish isn't too bad, but more importantly now I have much better runout spec. It's matching my measured spindle runout of 0.03mm.
