Nominate metalworking consumable tooling you would recommend.
Enough of the horror stories with poorly made consumable tooling.
Tell us about the good stuff you have purchased and who made it and who sold it.
Hopefully with what follows, may end up in a search down the road a bit, when a newbie searches for some decent tooling and may help.
As I have stated I like Capital taps and dies as I have had no problems with them and they are Aussie made.
I am also partial to Alpha gold series 135° 4 facet split point drills made in Europe and quite reasonable for what they are. Both brands were suggested to me by Whitelaw tooling in Mackay.

I regularly use both Guhring and Sutton endmills both carbide and hss. Sutton also offer a good resharpening service but you need about 1kg before its cost effective.
I could do with a recommendation for a good supplier of bimetal bandsaw blades, australian made would be a bonus but unlikely.

Old P&N stock for taps and dies (of which I have collected over the years) but 'Bordo' for any drills taps and dies now.

Milwaukee power tools are excelent. Also have some Ozito Xchange power tolls, which for the money, are excellent value. I will say though, whilst the Ozito Xchange brushless drill is good value, the steel 'quality' chuck is rubbish.
Drill bits I don't care as to brand, as long as they have cobalt, same for endmills. Whether conical or facet grind is unimportant to me, sharpening drill bits is a simple job.
I have Mitutoyo and no name measuring equipment which are pretty much same as, so I don't really care. If I was in a climate controlled workshop and working to closer tolerances than 0.01, I would I suppose.
Tools over the years have become cheaper and cheaper so it is possible to get 'some' cheap tools from China of good quality. years ago before the Chinese invasion all you could get was Rabone, Chesterman, Starret, Eclipse, Sidchrome, Minimax and so on at exorbitant prices. Since the invasion even these 'quality' brands have become a lot cheaper.
