    hi
    does anyone know what the max width and thickness material steel you can bend in a 10 ton press to 45 &90 deg.
    does not have to be accurate

    You will need to give your vee block die opening first .

    Off the top of my head, the rule of thumb was something like 8x thickness so for a 6mm thickness you need a 48mm min die opening.

    It is easier to give the material size you hope to bend and calcs can be done on that.

    Too many variables the other way - and I have a headache already

    Hi Steve, A bit hard to work it out, unless there's a mathematical solution, which I found on Google.

    I'd say at a rough guess about 300mm wide by 3mm thick. The thicker the metal the less width it can do. Probably the max thickness would be about 8mm by 50mm wide, all this would depend on the radius of the die.
